How to Source Zinc Die-Casting Components

Precision Zinc Die Casting for Small Components

Zinc die casting is suited to compact components with thin walls, fine features, stable dimensions and plated cosmetic surfaces. Ningbo Empire operates four zinc machines from 88T to 160T for locks, connector shells, gear housings and mechanism parts.

Zamak Alloy, Plating and Tolerance Review

The quotation should define Zamak grade, part weight, annual volume, critical dimensions after plating, corrosion target and cosmetic zones. Tool design, trimming, polishing and plating allowances are reviewed as one production route.

For Procurement & Engineering

What We Need to Quote Accurately

Send a 2D drawing and 3D model where available, together with annual volume and the requirements below. Our engineering review confirms process feasibility before pricing.

  • Zamak grade and applicable material standard
  • Plating thickness, adhesion and corrosion target
  • Critical dimensions after finishing
  • Assembly, torque and cosmetic acceptance criteria

Frequently Asked Questions

When is zinc preferable to aluminum?

Zinc suits small, detailed parts requiring thin walls, dimensional stability and high-quality plated finishes. Weight and material cost must still be considered.

Can zinc castings be plated?

Yes. Nickel, chrome and other systems are common, but pretreatment, thickness, rack marks and cosmetic zones should be defined before quotation.
